We go away to college thinking it’s going to be the best four years of our lives. That’s what everyone tells us. “Do you LOVE school?” “Are you having SO much fun?” are questions people ask me all the time. In reality, college is hard for most people. Especially today, where the levels of social and academic pressures are so high that it’s actually toxic. When we live away from home, we live without a support system. It’s easy to feel alone. Thus, it’s critical to have a robust mental wellness center and on-going education on every college campus. Universities have an obligation to keep their students safe and maintain a healthy living environment in their community.
